Delay and thinking about the consequences are blessings from God-Almighty while haste is from Satan. Pondering is like a mirror which shows your goodness and evilness.
~ Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h)
Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and wants for you to complete the period of fasting and to glorify Allah for that to which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.
~ Quran [2-185]
Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you so that you might remain conscious of Allah.
~ Quran [2:183]
He who seeks knowledge is like one who spends his day fasting and his night praying. Verily a chapter of knowledge a man learns is better for him than to have as much gold as a mountain and give it all away in the way of Allah.
~ Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h)
Be warned against having a brother who wants you for greed, avoidance of fear, or getting food and drink. Instead, seek the brotherhood of the pious even if they are in the darkness of the earth and even if you have to spend your life seeking them.
~ Imam Jaffar Al Sadiq
Is life only eating and sleeping? And does death mean you'll be buried under the soil of the Earth forever? Nay! This is not life, and this is not death.
~ Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib
Whoever lacks compassion does not have religion; whoever lacks wisdom does not have compassion; the most valuable person is the one who does not consider the entire world worthy of himself. Know that your bodies cannot be traded with anything except eternity. Therefore, never trade yourself for a price other than eternity.
~ Imam Al Kazim
Verily tribulations have certain extents and the extents have limits, so remain patient until you reach their limits, for trying to find a solution for them before they have passed only increases and prolongs them.
~ Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib
Oh Allah, I do complain to you against hard-heartedness, the heart which through whims and passions is in a state of continuous revolution and has become contaminated. And I do complain to you against the dryness of the eye which does not cry and is not afraid of you, and instead takes pleasure in pleasing itself towards the illusions of this world.
~ Imam Ali Zainul Abedin
